Concerns over safety in the Smart Car
The Smart Car is supposed to hit the U.S. next year and there are concerns about its safety.
It's fuel efficient, with the American version expected to get about 40 miles a gallon.
The 1700 pound vehicle is one of the smallest cars on the market and has not undergone crash testing here in America.
But the manufacturer, Daimler Chrysler says there are safety features like a stiff frame, antilock brakes, and side and knee air bags that make it a safe car to drive.

My daughter was rear ended by a Honda going 40mph while she was at a dead stop for a light.
While the Smart Car took weeks to get the parts and was $8500 in reapir costs, it held up better than the Honda.
My daughter was not injured.
